Ergonomic Management

Occupational safety and health (OSH) in the workplace, especially in small and medium enterprises (SMEs), is an aspect that employers need to pay full attention to. This is because activities carried out in the Based on the Occupational Safety and Health Act under Section 15 (2) (b) it is the responsibility of the employer to make arrangements to ensure, so far as is practicable, safety and the absence of risks to health in connection with the use or operation, handling, storage and transport of plant and materials. The Department has issued Ergonomic Risk Assessment Guidelines to assist employers in making arrangements to ensure that there are no ergonomic risks to the health of workers in carrying out the work activities involved. Through the guidelines, ergonomic risk assessments must be carried out by ergonomically trained persons. To ensure the quality of ergonomically trained persons reaches the level set by the Department, they must attend an Ergonomic Management Course (Initial or Advanced ERA) at a Registered Training Provider approved by the Department.
